Single stage blow moulding tooling maker R&D Leverage – formerly known as R&D Tool & Engineering – has further extended its up-front design activities with new consumer research capabilities.
The company says it will add consumer behaviour analysis to its tools, using the expertise of its recently appointed director of research, Tamara Christensen.
The move is part of a reshaping of the company's business that began in 2007 with the addition of a packaging design team headed by creative director Corwyn Strout at its facility in Kansas City in the US.
"Our customers will benefit from the addition of Tamara's advanced level of consumer-driven insight to our development of proprietary research processes," says Strout.
While Christensen will be based in the US, the Leverage design resource is available to the company's European customers through its manufacturing operation in the UK, where the company recently opened a Product Solutions Laboratory.
"We wanted to get the market perception changed that rather than being a 'me too' toolmaker, we are a solutions provider," says Alan Tolley, managing director of the UK facility.
